Gachagua's High Court Case Adjourned Pending Martha Koome’s Directions

Petition No. E565 of 2024 was scheduled for May 15, 2025.

However, the court, through Hon. Nduke, the Assistant Deputy Registrar, issued a notice to all parties that the matter has been adjourned pending further directions from the Chief Justice.

This follows the Court of Appeal’s decision last week to overturn DCJ Philomena Mwilu’s October 18, 2024, decision to appoint a three-judge bench to determine the case.

The Court of Appeal ruled that only the Chief Justice has the constitutional authority to appoint a bench in such matters.

The Court of Appeal, in its wisdom, directed that the matter be referred to CJ Koome for proper action until a properly constituted bench is appointed.
